His eyebrows drew together in a slight frown as he studied the monitor again. \u201cThe only rooms I have available are small studios on the first floor. Amanda would hurt me if I put you in one of those.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tera would like a little more room than a small studio, but she didn\u2019t feel right having Amanda pay for a suite. \u201cWould you refund my room cost to Amanda and let me pay instead?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI won\u2019t do anything to make Amanda mad at me.\u201d He ran a keycard through the scanner, slipped it into the card holder and laid it on the counter. \u201cSuite 419. Sam will carry your bags for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tera picked up the card holder with a sigh. \u201cYou realize I\u2019m<\/em> mad at you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRather you than Amanda.\u201d<\/p>\n

The humor in his eyes made her chuckle. \u201cShe can be completely unreasonable when she\u2019s angry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what Jake said. I don\u2019t want that anger directed at me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite Patrick refusing to do what she wanted, Tera liked him. She\u2019d always believed in first impressions. Patrick seemed to have a great personality and a wicked sense of humor. The drop-dead good looks didn\u2019t hurt either. If Jake was anything like his friend, she understood why Amanda loved him so much.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope you enjoy your stay with us, Ms. Connolly,\u201d Patrick said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure I will. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n

She turned to walk to the elevator. Patrick\u2019s next words stopped her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll see you at dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

She looked back at Patrick over her shoulder. \u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe four of us are having dinner in my suite at seven. See you then.\u201d<\/p>\n
